Thai Cuisine
Like all South East Asian cuisines Thai food is based around rice and Thailand grows the best rice in the world. In fact a vast proportion of the nation is dedicated to rice growing. Most popular the world around are the Thai Curries named after the colour of the curry pastes used to create them though equally common throughout Thailand are soups and seafood dishes all with distinctly sweet, sour and salty flavours. Thai food is often cooked with piles of chilli, not surprisingly then is it served with piles of rice. Unlike most other cuisines food in Thailand is not always served piping hot straight from the kitchen, it is actually very common for Thai food to be served at room temperature. Like Indian food Thai food can also be broadly separated into two regional variations, North and South. Northern Thai food is renowned for curries while the South renowned for its delicious seafood.
