Home World of Curries Malaysian Cuisine

As far as we are concerned Malaysian Cuisine is the most highly under rated food in Australia at the moment. As a nation we have fallen for Chinese and Thai yet seem rather ignorant of what I consider (although obviously biased) probably the best food in the world. That being said we are all familiar with Malaysian food weather we know it or not.

Nasi Goreng (Malay: Rice Fried)
Mee (Malay: Noodles)
Roti (Malay: Bread)

Broadly the food of Malaysia can be broken up into:
  • Malay (Muslim): Nasi Goreng, Beef Rendang and Satays.
  • Malay / Indian (Typically South Indian Tamil influence): Breads, Curries and the most delicious of all breakfast foods, Roti Chanai.
  • Malay / Chinese: Mix of noodles and noodle soups often with pork.
  • Nonya (Straights Chinese): Spicy Sambals and Laksas with strong lemon grass and shrimp paste flavors

The best food in Malaysia is the fusion food, the mix of Malay / Indian and Malay / Chinese, both unique and both
delicious. Some food such as Nonya (Straights Chinese) may take some getting used to with its pungent flavors, though
for people seeking a full flavored meal, I'm not sure you cant find much better.

With a love for Malay food and the difficulty in actually obtaining quality prepared food in Australia, the first product
line we started selling is a line of Malaysian curry pastes that so closely approximate the delicious food you can find on
every street corner in Kuala Lumpur, to where I fly almost every year to gouge myself.
